Is Glucosamine good for my dog?

By Steve Walsh April 07, 2021 0 comments

An article in the Open Veterinary Journal (Feb 2017) stated: “Glucosamine and chondroitin are commonly recommended by veterinarians as an alternative for treating osteoarthritis in canines unable to tolerate the adverse effects of NSAIDs, or as add-on therapy,”

Glucosamine has been used in veterinary practices in Europe and the U.S. for about 20 years.

Does Glucosamine Have Side Effects?

There have been very few side effects reported, but they can include:

  • Allergies (specifically Shellfish)
  • Fatigue
  • Excessive Thirst

Glucosamine containing excessive sugar is not good for dogs with diabetes.

Jst4Dogs Hip and Joint Supplements contain ideal dosages of Glucosamine and other beneficial ingredients like Chondroitin and MSM

(Methylsulfonylmethane), Vitamin C and F and Magnesium for large breed dogs like German Shepherds.

The Jst4Dogs Hip & Joint supplement for Dogs should be used as a preventative measure as well as for repair and maintenance of healthy cartilage in hip and elbow joints.
